Your help is needed! CBA starts this week with Grasses in Classes prep, and they need you! Time is flexible, so spend an hour or two helping them help all of us.🌊 See flyer for details.

Don't forget!
We need all hands on deck this month for Grasses in Classes prep. We have three dates in October. Help one time or all three. Stay the whole time or come and go. Wear a Halloween costume if you want! Just invest a few hours of your time in our waterways! 🌊 See flyer for details.

Engaging the community is one of the best resources for environmental conservation and appreciation. MKEI reached a milestone last year with the number of photographs submitted by community members over the 16 year span of our MKEI Annual Amateur Photo Contest, as highlighted by another recap of last year.

This Saturday, Sept 23, is the 30th Annual National Public Lands Day. NEEF (National Environmental Education Foundation) provides hundreds of activities planned for the day, with many opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to join the celebration and give back to America’s public lands. NEEF’s interactive map allows users to enter their zip code to find events close to home—or wherever they happen to be on National Public Lands Day. Check out their info and see how you can help.

The 30th Annual National Public Lands Day is just around the corner, and over 70,000 volunteers are gearing up to enhance parks, forests, and waterways across the country on September 23rd.

This year's theme, "30 Years of Care and Community," celebrates the event's growth from 700 volunteers to a nationwide initiative involving all 50 states and U.S. territories. Over the past decade, volunteers have contributed nearly five million hours, valued at $133 million!

Events will be held in iconic places like Yosemite, Grand Canyon, and Everglades National Parks. Plus, it's a Fee-Free Day, granting free admission to federal sites managed by participating agencies.
