Mid-Bay Bridge Rotary Club

At our Wednesday, Oct. 7, meeting, Phil Tritschler from Community Emergency Response Team gave us insight about the organization’s role in case of an emergency or disaster.

He explained the types of training that volunteers go through to prepare them for systematically responding in an effort to preserve life and property. Team members are here to assist the professionals. CERT is FEMA sponsored, and they are here to assist other emergency personnel. They conduct 20 hours of training.

Communication is via radio with fewest words to get points across. Training includes first aid, fire prevention, and a significant emphasis on safety.

Mid-Bay Bridge Rotary hosted another highly successful Oktoberfest, Sept. 25-26, in front of the Winn-Dixie store in Bluewater Bay, Niceville, FL. It's the major fundraiser for Mid-Bay as we donate more than $30,000 each year to non-profit organizations. Hope you enjoyed the food, fun, music, vendors and adult beverages.

We support Shelter Box each year. We’re sending half the “tips” from Oktoberfest to Shelter Box!
