Thank you for supporting the Farrell Flatt Tournament
Did you know that Sangamon Valley Sports Boosters is a parent organization that supports all SV middle school and high school athletic programs? In the past several years, the SV Sports Boosters has purchased Senior Sports Banners for SVHS Senior athletes, warm-ups/team shirts for Girls and Boys Basketball teams as well as Volleyball teams, provided food for HS/MS Track Teams and repairing the long jump at MS, and purchased a shooting machine for basketball teams. The Farrell Flatt Tournament is the largest fundraiser that SV Sports Boosters has each year to help cover the costs of the expenses above. SV Sports Boosters sponsored the annual Farrell Flatt Tournament on Jan. 16-18th in Illiopolis and Niantic for 4th, 5th, 6th grade boys basketball teams. Teams from Clinton, Maroa-Forsyth, Warrensburg-Latham, Unity, Decatur Catholic, Tri-City, Central A & M, Taylorville, South Fork, and Sangamon Valley participated this year. Congratulations to the Decatur Catholic A Team for taking 1st place in the 6th grade bracket. South Fork finished 2nd and Clinton finished 3rd in the 6th grade bracket. The 5th grade bracket winners were Taylorville in 1st place, Clinton in 2nd place, and Sangamon Valley team in 3rd place. Also congratulations to the teams in the 4th grade bracket! The Clinton team took the 1st place trophy, while Decatur Catholic A Team took home 2nd place, and Warrensburg-Latham finished in 3rd place. Congratulations to all participants on a great weekend of boys basketball.
We would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help make this tournament possible! It takes a lot of preparation and teamwork to host such a large tournament. We appreciate you!! A big thank you to Jim Mathews for recruiting teams, organizing brackets and referees for the tournament this year!

Many stepped up to help with concessions, collecting admissions, sweeping gyms, setting up and tearing down, and we appreciate the time each of you spent helping at the tournament!! We appreciate the HS Staff for encouraging and helping students sign up to volunteer for the basketball tournament each year! We would also like to thank the SV School Board and Administrators as well as SVI and SVHS Kitchen staff for the use of the facilities and use of the kitchen for the tournament! Again, we appreciate each and every one of you including the fans, parents, coaches and players that help make this tournament such a success especially after 47 years!
Lastly, we would like to thank Debbie Grieder with Screen This for the great job she does each year designing our T-shirts and screen printing for the tournament! Thank you also to Brew 66 Coffee for showing up on Saturday to provide coffee and hot chocolate for our customers! It sure was cold and a much needed pick me up!
