After 18 years away, she is finally home!

As part of the Journey in Faith and Grace in 2008, our statue of St. Therese was moved, along with something from Our Lady of Lebanon, St. George and Our Lady of the Rosary, to the former St. Stan’s Church on 24th and Niagara Streets to form Divine Mercy Parish. There she stayed for years. We know from many former parishioners that they were heartbroken that she was moved and have shared that they wished she could come back.

While attempts were made over the years to bring St. Therese back, nothing came about. It wasn’t until recently that we learned that the Divine Mercy property has been sold and we were contacted to see if there was interest in the statue. Of course, we jumped on it.

With heartfelt thanks to the Pastor of Niagara Falls Family of Parishes Fr. Donald Watkins, Business Manager Maxine, Justin from the Maintenance staff, Peter Zabel (our board member) and two helping hands who were walking by just as we pulled up and needed the help to bring her inside, St. Therese is now back home where she belongs.

Once St. Therese can be placed in the proper location in the church, we will plan an open house for you to come visit.

It is such a joy being in the right place. ☺️ While out mowing the lawn, I met up with 3 travelers taking pictures outside the church. Stopped to talk with them, I learned that the one in the middle is from Hong Kong and visiting her family in Canada. They came from Toronto, “got lost” as they said and just stopped to take pictures when driving by. Love special moments like this and able to give a private tour!!

Dear Friends of Historic Holy Trinity,

Many of you have fond memories from the past of Holy Trinity. Perhaps you or your family members were married here. Perhaps it was a baptism. Or perhaps you and your family attended Mass here. If pews could talk they would fondly tell your story. They can't, but you can.

We are now offering a way for you to honor their memory in a very special way and to memorialize them forever by engraving their names on a plaque.

The proceeds from this fundraiser will help us raise funds for building maintenance and repairs. Please consider joining us, and helping us preserve your Historic Holy Trinity Church Landmark. For more information and/or a form, email Marg at [email protected].

While you are out enjoying your Labor Day weekend, stop by our thrift store on Saturday between 10AM-2PM. The next shopping day with us will be October 3rd.
