Since 2012, Historic Holy Trinity has partnered with YouthWorks every summer. Over this time, I have had the most wonderful opportunity to meet amazing young men and women, along with their adult leaders for a brief moment; a dot on our lifetime. They go back home and I can only hope to make a brief yet positive impact to help them nurture and grow in their faith, for their love of God and love in helping others. More often than not, I do not know that impact. Today a dot connected and I am compelled to share what happened. 🥰
Catching up on organizational stuff at the complex…paperwork, emails, etc., I saw fire truck pull up in front of the church. Concerned, I went out to see what happened and make sure the church was okay. Around that same time a car drove by, turned around and I was approached by a man who said he wanted to take a picture of the church. We began talking and I learned that his son had been in Niagara Falls on a YouthWorks trip last year (2025). Pastor Jonathan had told his father that he and his youth served with us and that he (his dad) should see the church when he learned that his dad would be in Niagara Falls. Of course I open the doors to give John a tour inside.
It is times like this, which I call “God moments” are what help keep me grounded in knowing that what I do for Historic HolyTrinity does make a positive difference. I thank God for giving me a sense of curiosity 😂 and for being in the absolute right place when I needed to be. A heartfelt thank you to John for driving by that very moment and to his son Pastor Jonathan for remembering his visit to Historic Holy Trinity last summer and the impact it made. My heart is overflowing with love and gratitude. Marg
As for the initial reason I was drawn to go outside today… Please pray for 92 year-old woman who needed medical attention.
