May is National Community Action Month

Niagara Community Action Program, Inc., is part of the nationwide and statewide network of private, not-for-profit community action agencies that address the needs of the economically disadvantaged and working poor families throughout Niagara County. Our ultimate goal is to empower individuals and families to reach their fullest potential.

Incorporated in October 1966, Niagara Community Action Program, Inc., was designated by the Niagara County Legislature as the county’s official anti-poverty agency. Sole responsibility for governing the agency rests with its fifteen-member Board of Directors. The agency currently operates with a 32 member staff.

Support programs and services include emergency food, budget counseling, asset management, in-house weatherization, home repair grants, childcare referral, training, registration, health and safety start-up items, nutrition outreach, education and advocacy, fair housing, and landlord/tenant resolution. Families are networked from one service to another (depending upon need) for complete one-stop shopping and out to other partner organizations for complementary services.

"36th Annual Doctors with as Heart Day"
Dr. Glenda Rose, Dr. Thomas Barba and the staff of Rose Chiropractic, P.C. in Lewiston held their 36th Annual "Doctors with a Heart Day" on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Chiropractic adjustments, examinations and nutritional testing were exchanged for donations of food collected to benefit the Niagara Community Action Program, Inc.'s food pantry. 1,205 pounds of food were donated. Niagara Community Action Program, Inc. would like to thank all who participated this year to make "Doctors with a Heart" a huge success.
