Great news about Gabe’s alma mater

The Buffalo News has named St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute 'BEST PRIVATE SCHOOL' as part of the Best of 716 contest. Over 210,000 Western New Yorkers voted to determine the winners. Thank you to everyone who cast their vote for St. Joe's!

Good day. I have been seeing that some people are still coming to this page to view it but fb has not not given Christiano any info on who. I think I figured out why. For some reason we need 100 likes to our page before it will give Christiano any info about his Eagle Scout page. We have 96. If you would like to help Christiano out in helping direct the Lions Club to potential donors would you please like this page for him if you have not done so before. Thank you.

I really like the fact that so many people are still coming to this page after so many months.

I am amazed how many people are coming to this sight months after this project was started. I can't see who they are though I am certain its just because I don't know what I am doing but this is pretty cool.

Though Christiano's Eagle Project has been completed for several weeks, there are still locations where boxes are still in place. We go by every once in a while and collect what is in them. He has around another 100 pairs of glasses to deliver to the Town of Niagara Lions Club.

As far as Christiano knows, donations his Eyes of an Eagle Project for Sight are still being taken in all NIAGARA WHEATFIELD Schools except the High School. They did not have a place to keep the box. In addition in the Town of Niagara Marsh's General Store still has a box. Labmasters Vision has a box of its own that they kindly directed to his project while it was going on.

Also there are boxes in LaSalle and the City of Niagara Falls at St. John De LaSalle Church and LaSalle Early Learning Center (next door on Buffalo Ave just before bridge to Cayuga Island). The Como Deli and Scibilia's Haircutters have boxes and Roy's Radiator is accepting donations.

Christiano does not know how long the boxes will stay up but as long as they are, he will try to go out to collect the donated items and get them to where they will help others in need.

Thank you and all the sponsors who are retaining the donation boxes again for your support of the work of the Lions Club of the Town of Niagara.

Below is a photograph following Christiano's Eagle Scout Board of Review this past Saturday where Christiano, center, earned his Eagle Scout Rank. Thought you would like to know.

Christiano wants to thank all of you who supported his Eyes of an Eagle Project for Sight program that helped him achieve his rank. You helped him collect approaching 900 sets of eyeglasses and dozens of eyeglass cases that have been distributed to the Lions Club of the Town of Niagara. Some of those boxes with his Eagle project poster on them are still up and Christiano will continue to check the boxes occasionally until he is asked to take the boxes down. Thank you very much for helping to make this a successful campaign.

Christiano is pictured with Adam Wagner, another Scout from Troop #841 who also earned his Eagle Scout Rank that day.

Also included in the photo is Kevin Rolling who has been their Scout Leader.for their entire Scouting careers. He has been a kind yet strong force in their development from boy to young man. Under his tutelage, he has brought in at least six other boys to their Eagle Scout Rank in the past five years with two waiting to get their Boards of Review. Not bad for a little troop out of Niagara Falls.

They are all people to be proud of.

Merry Christmas to all and a special Christmas greeting and thank you once again to everyone who donated to or helped out on the Eyes of an Eagle Project for Sight and the Town of Niagara Lions Club.

Approaching 900 usable pairs collected with some sites still to be tallied. That will help to make the New Year a happy one for many people in need. Happy New Year to you too.

Well Christiano turned in his Eagle Scout paperwork yesterday. Christiano wants to thank all of you who helped to make his campaign a success. He could not have done it without the cooperation of the businesses and organizations that allowed him to place boxes in their facilities as well as the volunteers that helped him collect the donations and inspect and count them. You were all great.

We don’t have a final official count on the glasses he collected but it could be as much as 861 usable pairs plus a couple box-loads of eyeglass boxes. All of these have been turned over to the Town of Niagara Lions Club.

Now most of the boxes are still in place. The Lions are going to communicate w these companies / organizations to see if they will keep the boxes in place but in the interim until Christiano has his Board of Review, the final step to Eagle, any glasses collected in those boxes will go towards his donation count. So if you have not had any the opportunity to bring any items that you were intending to donate please check the project page for locations that had been collecting donations. Hopefully the boxes will still be there.

Thank you again for helping Christiano Eagle Scout project take flight.
