The Niagara Falls Community Lions Club is proud to announce that this year’s Free Pop-Up Eye Clinic served more than 130 individuals from the Niagara Falls community and beyond. This was the first of two clinics that was held on Saturday, May 16, at The Salvation Army of Niagara Falls.

Again this year several local clubs came together to ensure that this effort was a success. These included the Kenmore, Kenmore Better Vison, Youngstown, Lewiston Community, Grand Island, Olcott & Baker Lions clubs.

The Niagara Falls Community Lions Club proudly hosted the 2026 - 5th Grade Citizenship Awards Dinner, recognizing 23 outstanding students from eight elementary schools in the City of Niagara Falls and surrounding communities.

“These exceptional fifth-grade students were selected for the positive qualities that define strong citizenship,” said Club President Lion Rob Nichols. “The selection process includes input from teachers and peers and recognizes students for attributes such as school spirit, self-control, courtesy, cooperation, attendance, health, reliability, scholarship, and strong work habits.”

Approximately 200 people attended the event, including teachers, administrators, family members, and friends. Schools represented included 79th Street, Cataract, G.J. Mann, Harry F. Abate, Hyde Park, and Maple Avenue elementary schools, as well as Niagara Charter School and Catholic Academy of Niagara Falls. Please check out the photos for the names of the award winners.

The Niagara Falls Community Lions Club congratulates all of this year’s award winners and applauds their commitment to citizenship, leadership, and excellence both in and out of the classroom.
