The Greater Dothan Area Lions Club is partnering with the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) to host our 2nd annual “Hunt for Sight with Lions,” April 4-6, 2019. Hunt for Sight with Lions began because of the helplessness that Hope and Kevin Crew felt when their daughter “Mac” was diagnosed with an eye condition at only two months old. The Crews decided they wanted to help other children like Mac who suffer from low vision, so they partnered with the Greater Dothan Lions Club and the National Wild Turkey Federation to create Hunt for Sight with Lions. Kevin is an avid hunter, and they knew that the compassionate community of hunters in the Wiregrass would want to help young children see the world more clearly. The mission of Hunt for Sight with Lions is to help young children with low vision and their families pay for doctor visits, eyeglasses, travel expenses to treatment centers and any other needs they may have. After a successful first year, Hunt for Sight with Lions has expanded to include raising money to assist children who are fighting pediatric cancers, because a surprising number of kids in the Wiregrass and surrounding communities are fighting to overcome cancer. We hope you’ll join with Mac, Hope, Kevin and the Wiregrass hunting community to make this year’s Hunt for Sight with Lions an even more successful event that will aid so many local children who desperately need a hand to help them overcome low vision and pediatric cancers.
