Today, the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 440 proudly joins our nation in recognizing and commemorating Juneteenth.

Juneteenth marks a significant moment in American history—the day freedom reached those who had remained enslaved and a reminder of our nation’s ongoing journey toward liberty, equality, and justice for all.

As members of an organization founded on service, patriotism, and respect for our fellow Americans, we honor the sacrifices, struggles, and achievements that have shaped our country. We remember the past, celebrate freedom, and remain committed to building stronger communities for future generations.

Join the Newtown Rotary Club for a special DINNER meeting on Wednesday, June 17th at 6:00pm as we celebrate our Rotary Leadership Changeover. We will extend our sincere thanks to Steve Sabel for his outstanding service and leadership as President this past year. The meeting will also warmly welcome Shikha Prashar as she steps into her new role as President. Please join us in recognizing this important transition and the continued strength of our Rotary community. The meeting will be held at the American Legion with a lunch catered by Joe Garvey for $25 and we will have wine available for those who want to partake. Please join us to mark this wonderful occasion!
