🇺🇸 PLEASE JOIN US IN HONORING TWO AMERICAN VETERANS 🇺🇸

No veteran should be laid to rest alone.

On Thursday, August 27th at 2:00 PM, the Bucks County Coroner’s Office will inter two unclaimed veterans who served our nation with honor:

🇺🇸 William Chookagian — U.S. Navy (FN), Vietnam Era
🇺🇸 Dennis B. Smith — U.S. Air Force (SRA)

The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 440 – Newtown, PA is asking our members, friends, neighbors, and community to join us at Washington Crossing National Cemetery to make sure these gentlemen are not laid to rest without people there to honor their service.

Their names will be read, military honors will be rendered, and the ceremony will include a flag presentation, rifle salute, and live Taps.

Please consider giving a little of your time to pay your respects and show these veterans that their service will never be forgotten.

American Legion Post 440 has been serving veterans and the community in Newtown since 1920. Come join us on the third Tuesday of every month at 1800 hrs. Dinner will be served @1800 and our meeting will start @1900.

Since August 4, 1790, the brave men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard have stood the watch—protecting our nation’s waterways, saving lives, defending our shores, and answering the call whenever duty demands.

Their unwavering commitment, courage, and sacrifice embody the very best of America.

On behalf of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 440, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to every active-duty Coast Guardsman, reservist, veteran, civilian employee, and Coast Guard family for your dedicated service to our country.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who served during the Korean War and recognize the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement on July 27, 1953.

On National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of the veterans who answered our nation’s call during what is often called the “Forgotten War.” Their service safeguarded freedom and shaped history, and their legacy continues to inspire generations.

To all Korean War veterans: Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your dedication to our country. Your courage will never be forgotten.
