So we have many dogs in our rescue in need of homes that are not such easy adopts as a cute little puppy might be. But they are still awesome dogs and certainly worthy of a forever home and tender loving care. We are going to try and feature each of these dogs on our page and hope that maybe someone will connect with them and their story and offer them that miracle as they have been waiting for awhile in many cases! And if not able to adopt, maybe someone would be willing to sponsor that dogs' ongoing care and meds etc! So, with that in mind, our first to be featured is Argos!

So Argos is one of our many dogs that pulls at my heartstrings… but alas he needs and deserves a home of his very own! Argos came to us a broken spirit. He was picked up as a stray and was just skin and bones with skin lesions and a stoic defeated demeanor. His experience with humans had obviously not been kind or caring and his reluctance to interact was well earned. But now he has finally opened up and i have earned his trust and he has really begun to enjoy life even exhibiting puppy play bows when interacting! So it is now time to try and find his most perfect loving forever home. It somehow feels like the ultimate betrayal now that he finally feels comfortable and trusting to upset the apple cart once again as far as he is concerned. It absolutely hurts my heart… but I am only supposed to be their temporary home! If only somehow we could help them to understand! I chose the name Argos because in biblical terms it means a failing to fulfill their intended purpose. I feel this is especially true for this boy! He was not intended to be neglected. He is a very regal calm pensive boy whose purpose is to love and be loved and to protect his loved ones! I do hope this purpose can be fulfilled!

Argos is probably 3-5 years old and suffers from a thyroid condition which is now under control with meds. This most likely is the result of irresponsible breeding to get a blue colored coat which is not a standard color for a Doberman. It also causes CDA or Color Dilution Alopecia such that he truly has very little hair. Now that his thyroid is under control, it is possible he may get his hair back and it is growing in but it doesn’t really affect him overall. He just needs an overcoat when it’s cold out and i would not leave him in direct sunlight for fear of a sunburn. So we are looking for a dobie savvy home with folks who first and foremost understand the breed. And then someone willing to continue to monitor his thyroid condition and keep things under control. Argos is great with the dogs and even the cats! And he walks pretty good on the lead! He does need close supervision to be housebroken as the thyroid issue causes him to drink... a lot. I do feel a fenced in yard would be a must and a canine friend would be a plus! Overall Argos is a very sweet boy who is a fairly easy keeper!

SWEET SOULS Tyler aka Walter was a rock star yesterday at adoption event. Here are some pictures. This 35 lb boy would make a great pet for anyone, he is great with other dogs n kiddos too!! WE HAVE PUPPIES! Right at the end of 2025, 27 dogs were rescued by AC living essentially at a homeless encampment in rural GA and our temperatures were frigid! One of the dogs was very pregnant and the AC sent out an urgent plea to rescues to please pull… but being the end of year, no one stepped up. As we had already pulled a single pup from the same location where all his siblings had been killed, we pulled this mom to be assured her pups would have a different fate. On January 8th, momma Wilma gave birth to four pups, two boys and two girls, all brindle in color like their mom! The tiniest girl was born with a cleft lip but fortunately it did not effect her palate and she was able to nurse and grow! That was all over 10 weeks ago and these puppies are now ready to move on! They have had two sets of vaccines, been spayed and neutered, dewormed, microchipped and are ready to take on the world! They just each need a loving family or person to guide them in their journey!

We have the biggest boy Fred who is about 12 # with a white blaze, his brother Barney at about 10 #, sister Betty weighing about 8 #, and little sister Pebbles weighing in at only about 6 #! But don’t let her size fool you, she can hold her own against her big brothers!!! If you or anyone you know is interested in adding a precious puppy to your family, please contact us. So our page hasn’t been very active here lately. To be perfectly honest, life in rescue has been tough. Adoptions are few and far between, donations have dwindled… yet the need is greater than ever. We have so many dogs available that still need to be fed and still need ongoing vetting and use up supplies. Honestly it is all very frustrating and happening everywhere not just with us.

Today i am posting one of our sweet senior souls in need. Duffy has been up in CT for a couple of months in a loving foster home but his stay is coming to an end through no fault of his own. We would love to find Duffy a loving adoptive home to share his journey with! Duffy is around 8 years young, weighs under 15 #, and would enjoy the retired lifestyle with a few squeaky or scrunchy toys, a few walks, and a nice soft bed to lay his head! Duffy would prefer an all adult home and could probably handle another mindful dog. He lived his life with another dog til his elderly owner passed away and family didn’t want either of them. Krista has been adopted and is doing great! Duffy has been in foster all the while with another dog! He was at my house with many dogs but does not prefer that! If you think you would enjoy a sweet lapdog who would love to watch your favorite TV shows with you and walk down the lane with you and keep you warm on chilly nights then Duffy might be the boy for you! He doesn’t prefer to share his person but i think having experienced so much loss has made him mindful! Anyway Duffy is a great boy, an easy keeper, and doesn’t eat much! 🤪 He will make the right person an awesome friend and companion!

What a joy it was to foster Rylee’s litter and watch each of you grow, thrive, and get adopted by loving families. This milestone is a celebration of your first year in your furever homes, wagging tails, puppy mischief and so much love.

A huge thank-you to your amazing families for opening their hearts and homes. Because of you, these sweet pups get to live their best lives, full of comfort, fun, and unconditional love. 💙
