Located in the heart of Newtown, our state-of-the-art facility offers something for everyone: indoor pools, multipurpose and banquet rooms, art and wellness programs, youth and senior activities, and year-round community events. Guided by our mission to enhance our community by promoting social interaction, health and wellness, creative opportunities, and personal growth, we strive to be a place w

here neighbors gather and form lasting memories. To ensure that cost is never a barrier, the Friends of the Newtown Community Center, Inc. (EIN 83-3876134) was established as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. The Friends help fund scholarships, programs, facility enhancements, and special events. The financial support allows more residents to access memberships, programs, classes, and events at the Center. Through fundraising efforts, community partnerships, and generous donations, the Friends help make the Community Center a true home for everyone in Newtown.

Mother Nature isn't cooperating with our outdoor plans! Due to forecasted inclement weather, our Movie Night Under the Stars has been rescheduled to Thursday, August 6th at 8:00 PM.

Pack your blankets, lawn chairs, and the whole family for a FREE patriotic screening of Disney's Miracle under the night sky as part of our America's 250th celebration! 🇺🇸 Popcorn and delicious snacks will be available for purchase.

🏀🎉 What a special day for our community!

Yesterday, we officially cut the ribbon on our brand-new outdoor basketball court at the Newtown Community Center! It was wonderful celebrating this exciting addition with community members, local leaders, supporters, and the children who will enjoy this court for years to come.

These courts are more than just a place to play; they are a place to build friendships, stay active, make memories, and strengthen our community. We can't wait to see campers, families, neighbors, and friends enjoying this space all summer long and beyond.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this project a reality, especially Mr. Hertberg for his incredible generosity and commitment to the Newtown community. 💙

✨ Things got a little sticky at camp today! ✨

Our campers had the absolute best time diving into all things gooey, colorful, and creative at today’s Slime Camp with Abrakadoodle Trumbull, CT 🧪🎨 From perfect stretches to custom mix-ins, the energy (and the slime) was off the charts.

We understand that approximately 15% of Newtown is still without power. If you’re affected and need a place to freshen up, take a shower, or charge your devices, the Community Center is open today until 5:00 PM.

Due to the extreme temperatures, our Aquatic Center HVAC system is struggling to keep up with the excessive heat. To ensure the safety and comfort of our members and staff, the Community Center pools will close today at 12:15.

Community Center members can still enjoy the water today!
With a valid Community Center key tag, members will have complimentary access to Eichler's Cove Beach and Treadwell Pool today only until 7:00 PM. To utilize Eichlers Cove you must have a resident or non-resident parking sticker.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work through these challenging weather conditions.

We will reopen on Sunday morning.
