We invite you to join us Wednesday, August 19, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET, for a special webinar focused on expanding rural pathways to law school.

In recent years, the legal education community has increased efforts to address the unique access to justice challenges in rural areas. A number of law schools have launched or expanded initiatives to recruit students from rural areas, prepare students to address the legal needs of rural residents, and support graduates as they transition into rural legal practice. But there is still much more to be done, and it cannot be done by any one part of the legal community alone.

LSAC is working together with leaders from schools, courts, and the legal community to take an in-depth look at the work being done in this area and the challenges that remain, toward the goal of creating and implementing a comprehensive set of collaborative solutions. Research consistently shows that rural communities face some of the greatest challenges in securing legal representation and access to justice. For those in rural communities, limited exposure, resources, and support networks can make the pathway to law school difficult to navigate. That's why LSAC is working with leaders from schools, courts, and the legal community to help expand rural pathways to law school and improve rural access to justice.

Join us on Wednesday, August 19, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET for the first in a series of webinars on this important topic. In this session, we will explore strategies for expanding awareness of legal careers, strengthening academic preparation, and building effective pathways that connect talented students from rural areas to law school and the legal profession.
