I will be attending the funeral for Hazzan Jack Kessler today at the Germantown Jewish Center at 11:00 AM. It was Cantor Jack who taught me the Torah cantillation melodies I use when I chant Torah (as I did just yesterday at The Jewish Center of Princeton). Jack also trained me on how to be a shaliach tzibbur (how to lead the prayers). And I will never forget the way he chanted the Haftorah on the Fourth of July using the text from the Declaration of Independence! (https://legacy4now.theshalomcenter.org/node/1735 ). Dear Jack: You will truly be missed! Please pray for his beloved Rabbi Marcia Prager who is recovering from surgery (HaRav Miriam Yael Chaya bat Sarah).
