Teamwork, creativity, and a little brainpower made for a wonderful afternoon in Memory Care! Our residents spent the day exercising their minds by working together to assemble puzzles and color beautiful garden landscapes. The teamwork was amazing—the puzzles came together quickly as everyone put their sleuthing skills to the test and happily celebrated each piece that found its place.

We were delighted to host the talented young performers from the Newtown Arts Company Summer Camp, who brought history to life with their performance of “A Colonial Tale.” Through music, storytelling, and spirited acting, they portrayed key moments leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, giving our residents a meaningful and entertaining glimpse into our nation’s founding.

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the performance and the opportunity to support these incredible young actors. Thank you to the cast, directors, and volunteers for sharing your talents and helping create such a memorable experience.

Our Personal Care Wine & Cheese Social is always a favorite! It’s the perfect opportunity to gather with friends, enjoy a special treat, and catch up over great conversation. Once everyone had sampled the delicious cheeses and refreshments, it was time to put their memories to the test with a round of classic movie trivia. One fun fact that surprised many was that Roy Rogers’ faithful dog was named Bullet!
We are always learning something new.

We had an amazing 250th anniversary ball drop celebration in our Cafe with our Personal Care residents last week. Ali and Caroline hosted an amazing party with themed cupcakes, fresh fruit, root beer floats, noisemakers, games, and patriotic pop! I will post a video of the ball drop separately. It was so fun celebrating together. Happy birthday, America!

Patriotic creativity was on full display in our Memory Care community last week!
Residents enjoyed making festive firecrackers using cups and colorful ribbons, creating bright decorations to celebrate the season. They also painted American flags made from popsicle sticks, adding their own unique touch to each one. Our finished creations added a wonderful patriotic touch throughout the community and reminded us that every masterpiece is one of a kind.

More memories from our Fourth of July celebration!
The fun continued with even more patriotic moments, delicious food, and great company. One of the highlights of the day was a festive confetti surprise that caught everyone by surprise and quickly became a favorite part of the celebration!

Our Fourth of July celebration was one to remember!

The celebration started with a festive lunch featuring cheeseburger sliders, fried and grilled chicken, BBQ ribs, a variety of fresh salads, creamy mac and cheese, and all the classic cookout favorites. To top it all off, residents enjoyed root beer floats and a slice of apple pie for dessert—a perfect ending to a delicious holiday meal. Continuing with a wonderful performance by Chris Fitting, who had everyone singing along to familiar patriotic favorites and classic tunes.

It was a day filled with great music, good food, and the simple joy of celebrating Independence Day together.

It was an exciting week last week as we stayed with our patriotic theme. Our residents got into the patriotic spirit by baking red, white, and blue cupcakes. They mixed up red velvet batter, frosted each cupcake with bright blue icing, and finished them with festive star sprinkles. While most enjoyed the festive treats, one resident was a bit skeptical of the bright blue icing. He gave it a try but decided it just wasn’t for him—which sparked a few chuckles and reminded us that everyone has their own tastes!
