Founded as a 55-bed nursing home, Chandler Hall now offers a broad spectrum of services for individuals at all stages of the aging process. Our ladies in Memory Care have been having a ball lately—literally! This week, they gathered for a friendly game to see how long they could keep a beach ball in the air without letting it drop. And guess what? They kept the game going for at least 10 minutes!

Our residents have really been enjoying the active games our Life Enrichment Team has been introducing lately. They’re a wonderful way to add a little movement, a little friendly competition, and plenty of fun to the day! Thanks to Beverly, Destiny and Renee.

A big thank-you to the Marsha Washington Garden Club for spending time with our residents and sharing their love of gardening!

Together, they created garden portraits using leaves and flowers to form beautiful images of birds and plants. We love when this wonderful group of volunteers visits Chandler Hall. They bring so much enthusiasm, knowledge, and creativity, giving our residents the chance to explore nature and enjoy some hands-on fun.

There’s something special about spending an afternoon in the kitchen together, especially when something delicious is in the oven!

Our Phelps crew in Personal Care spent part of the afternoon baking together. Everyone had a part to play, from chopping bananas and mixing the dry and wet ingredients to blending everything with the mixer and making sure our pans were ready to go.

With Caroline guiding the way and a recipe found online, our bakers got to work. Before long, the delicious smell drifting upstairs started drawing a few curious onlookers.

But the best part? Finally getting to enjoy the fruits (and bananas!) of our labor, one bite at a time. yum!

Our resident artists in Memory Care got creative with some Halloween-themed paintings!

With a little help from Destiny, Mary painted a cat, Linda painted a bat, and Joan painted a spooky pumpkin. My favorite detail? The words they added to their canvases: “Bleh!,” "Meow," and “Spooky!” I love it! A little Halloween spirit and a lot of personality in every painting.

Hello Autumn!
Last week, Agnes, Marie, and Barbara spent some time creating these lovely “Hello Autumn” signs for their rooms. With Ralph offering lots of encouragement along the way, each lady chose and placed the elements herself.

We think Agnes, Marie, and Barbara did a fabulous job! Their signs are a wonderful way to welcome the autumn season and add a little fall charm to their rooms.

Rainy days call for fun, laughter, and a little friendly competition in our Memory Care community. Our residents kept their minds active with music trivia, spin-and-solve games, and teamwork as they built puzzles. From testing their knowledge to celebrating each little victory, there was plenty to keep everyone engaged. Rainy weather may keep us indoors, but the fun never stops at Chandler Hall!

Creativity Is in Full Bloom in Memory Care!

What a wonderful art project for our Memory Care residents. Using printed tree outlines and Q-tips to paint the leaves was such a creative way to let everyone express their own artistic flair.

Our residents truly made these trees their own, choosing bright, eye-catching colors and unique patterns that brought each piece to life. Every tree has its own personality, and we love seeing the creativity shine through.

We can’t wait to display these beautiful works of art in our hallway art gallery for everyone to enjoy! Thanks, Destiny, for helping plan this wonderful project.

Balloon Badminton Fun in Memory Care
Our Memory Care residents have been loving our active games lately, and today was no exception! Our ladies and gentlemen spent the afternoon in the family room playing balloon badminton, keeping the balloon in the air and the fun going.

They barely let that balloon touch the ground! There were plenty of smiles, lots of movement, and a wonderful time for everyone.

A Little Trivia, a Lot of Fun
Today, our Skilled Nursing residents spent the afternoon with our volunteer Cathy, exercising their minds with a fun round of trivia featuring classic movie stars, then moving on to questions about U.S. presidents.

Then it was time for one of their favorite activities—a word find puzzle! This week’s puzzle proved to be quite a challenge, but our crew was ready to put their skills to the test and ultimately found twenty words.
