Who was ready for our Chandler Hall Derby Days? Our residents had a grand old time rolling the dice to move their horse along the track and claim the win. Everyone in the group won at least once, which made it oh-so-fun.

There is never a dull moment in our fun and active Memory Care community because you never know what surprises the day may bring! This lively afternoon included card games, bingo, and plenty of unexpected fun when inflatable chicken suits made an appearance. The silly costumes and friendly games made for an afternoon full of smiles, lighthearted fun, and memories that everyone will be talking about for quite some time.

Our May birthday celebration in Personal Care was a wonderful afternoon spent honoring residents with sweet treats. Residents enjoyed birthday donuts along with coffee and tea while gathering together to celebrate the monthโ€™s birthdays (Ann). We also had a great time testing our knowledge with trivia about the year 1925 and comparing it to life today. From prices and popular trends to memorable historical moments, the trivia sparked lots of memories and interesting discussions at our party.

Our annual Memorial Day luncheon brought residents, families, and staff together for an afternoon filled with great food, music, and patriotic spirit. Our culinary department prepared a delicious menu featuring hamburgers, cheeseburgers, grilled chicken, potato salad, watermelon cucumber salad, corn salad, and a festive red, white, and blue cake for dessert. We were also entertained by Maggie Griffin-Smith, who performed patriotic favorites along with beloved songs from the decades, getting everyone singing along. The afternoon was filled with chair dancing, sing-alongs, and friends enjoying time together during this special campus gathering. Wishing everyone a very Blessed Memorial Day!

We were so happy to welcome the Martha Washington Garden Club volunteers earlier this week for a creative afternoon of painting flower pots with our residents! Each pot was painted in bright, cheerful colors and decorated with unique designs that reflected everyoneโ€™s creativity and personality. The story of our memory care butterfly garden journey. ๐Ÿฆ‹ We started with tiny caterpillars and watched them grow bigger each day before forming their chrysalises over the past two weeks. Everyone enjoyed checking in daily to see the changes and learn about each stage of the butterfly life cycle. This week, our butterflies have started to emerge and spread their wings for the first time. We have begun feeding our butterflies nectar, and in a few more days, we will release them into the world. Residents loved being part of the process from beginning to end. Thank you to the Life Enrichment team for sharing this wonderful experience with us all.

Our Memory Care residents spent the afternoon creating beautiful floral arrangements with fresh daisies, hydrangeas, snapdragons, roses, and sunflowers. Everyone enjoyed choosing their favorite flowers and designing a bouquet that reflected their own style and creativity.

The finished arrangements added such a cheerful touch to our dining room tables, bringing bright colors and a fresh spring feel to the space. It was wonderful to see each person so engaged in the activity, carefully arranging every stem and admiring one anotherโ€™s creations.
