TM goals, what was our proudest accomplishment as an officer, hopes for the next officer year, etc.?

One aspect of Toastmasters that speaks to me is the sense of community that is created within a club. Like any community one can either be a passive or active participant. For me, the passive approach gets boring. To paraphrase the smash Broadway show Hamilton, "I want to be in the room where it happens."
We're all in the "room" (on Zoom) when a club meeting happens. That room has a secret passage to ExCo (ok, the passage is not very secret - it simply requires one to volunteer!).
Joining the BHwL ExCo this past year gave me passage to that extra room, and allowed me to be more involved in our community. It also let me see our club/community from a different perspective. As a lifelong learner, expanding perspective and experience is a central trait for me!
I went into it confident that I could "give" - I could help out the club, the other officers, and perform my role satisfactorily. What I did not expect was what I received. I wasn't just in the room, I was part of a team of funny, warm, kindhearted, people. Being part of the ExCo allowed me the privilege of expanding my relationships with members of the BHwL community. That's a pretty awesome gift to receive from one's community!
