Myrtle Baptist Church Our history as a church points to the ethic of radical love that Jesus espoused

At Myrtle Baptist Church, the Church where Love Abides, we endeavor to encourage and support, without judgment or fear, all who wish to join with us in their walk with Christ. Myrtle Baptist Church of West Newton, founded by freed slaves in 1874, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008 and exists as one of the oldest black churches in New England.

This recognition is extended to individuals whose work and leadership have contributed to the legacy of the Chapel and to the witness of Morehouse College.
