I intended to sucker-punch December the way it has done to me so many times—by hosting my second retreat for grieving mothers during the very anniversary week of losing my son, Mason, and my brother, Jacque.
But the flu got me instead.
So this is one last reminder to anyone who didn’t register but might have planned to show up tomorrow: we’ve had to reschedule the retreat.
I was terrified that the minute I canceled, I’d be miraculously healed and filled with regret. But in all of God’s mercy and grace… I am still as sick as I was at Thanksgiving, fully validating my decision. 🙌🤣
We had a wonderful group of leaders lined up and a surprising number of moms registered within minutes of the very first post. So now I’m determined to get this retreat rescheduled as soon as possible.
Having all this time to think—and knowing I somehow think even clearer when my heart is hurting—I’ve dreamed up even better gifts and meaningful touches for the moms.
So no—December ultimately did not win.
God always has the last say and the final victory. 🥹❤️🙌
Please pray for all of the mamas who desperately needed an event like this during the holiday season.
Pray that God would reveal to each of them the beauty that can rise from the ashes of grief, even in the most painful time of the year.
And pray that Satan would have no victory in this vulnerable season for a grieving parent!
