HopePrints Ministries

HopePrints Ministries HopePrints is a ministry born of tragedy, offering tangible comfort and the Hope of Christ to families grieving the death of a child.

After a brief illness In December 2006, our 5 year old son, Mason, was placed on life support. We were blessed with the presence of a Child Life Specialist who guided our older children through the process of creating keepsake handprints of their brother. The prints are a precious reminder of the time we spent with Mason, and an encouragement to us as we continue to find purpose in the tragedy of

his death. Since Mason's death we have functioned as a family reaching out to our community, and beyond through a service God has enabled us to perform. It is an incredible honor to be able to create this priceless keepsake to hurting families. Churches locally, and across the nation are currently making HopePrints Ministries available in their own outreach programs.

2 Corinthians 1:4
Who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Hey sweet mama,

Are you feeling it yet? That unexplainable shift that seems to happen around this time of year?

It’s not quite an ache. It feels more like a heaviness that settles deep inside. Somehow, even before the trees are up and the stockings are hung, your body just knows that the “most wonderful time of the year” is drawing near.

No matter what stage of loss you are in the sights, sounds, and even the smells of the holidays seem to stir memories of what once was and sometimes the sadness of what will never be. It can feel sacred and crushing all at once. You may find yourself longing for quiet moments or for someone who understands without needing words.

We get it. 🤍

Our Weary Hearts Don’t Feel Like Rejoicing retreat is designed especially for mothers who are struggling to navigate the holidays while grieving.

This is a small space of time set aside for you to breathe, to be seen, and to know that you are not alone in this journey.

There will be moments of reflection, comfort, and connection with other women who understand this unique path. Whether you come to share your own experience or simply to rest your soul and sit quietly in the company of others as they share their stories, you are welcome here.

This retreat is for mothers who have lost a child of any age, including during pregnancy. If your arms ache for the child you never got to hold, you are very much a grieving mother, and you are very much welcome in this space. 🕊️

There is so much to be gained from the experiences of others who are farther along in this journey. If you are curious but hesitant about attending, please know that even if you don’t say a single word, you will be blessed, encouraged, and uplifted by the stories our speakers have to share.

What we hope you take away from this experience is that even when your heart is weary and you don’t feel like rejoicing at Christmas, there is still room for hope. ✨

The loss of a child reorders every aspect of your life. The holiday season as you know it is forever changed. The first holiday after a child dies is filled with shock, numbness and a cold sense of being completely disconnected from reality. Those who have survived years or decades of grief will tell you that it gets easier, but it will never be the same.
No matter where you are in your healing journey, we get it. We understand the feelings like anger, rage, sorrow, depression, confusion, denial and the never ending longing for what should be. We understand the incredible strain the loss of a child puts on a family. We understand that family relationships and friendships may be lost, adding to the grief you already feel over the death of your child. You may be questioning God or feeling closer to Him than you ever have before. We get it.
We understand feeling like you are not going to make it through the holidays and we understand the need for encouragement.
If you are a grieving parent we want you to understand that you are not alone. If you are longing for a sense of connection with those who have been where you are, we would love to encourage your weary heart.
