Honored to stand with our brothers and sisters of the Boston Fire Department today to pay our final respects to Firefighter Robert “Bobby” Kilduff Jr.

A testament to the brotherhood of the fire service, our members were proud to join departments from across the region to honor a hero who gave everything for his city. Our deepest condolences remain with the Kilduff family and the men and women of the BFD. Rest in peace, brother.

Whoops. Our intern's post didn't make it. Here is the post:

It's a dual celebration Fire Prevention Friday meets Station Saturday! Today, we're having highlighting the heartbeat of our Department, our Fire Prevention Office.

These members are responsible for much more than just fire investigations; they handle the vital permitting and inspections that ensure fire alarm systems across Newton are up to code and ready to protect you.

Standing alongside our vintage Gamewell fire alarm boxes, we're reminded of how far fire technology has advanced. Yet, one thing remains unchanged: the necessity of community vigilance. While our tool have evolved from the classic box to modern smart detection, our mission to keep Newton safe remains the same.

We're proud to serve you every single day. See us out in the community? Come say hi!!!!

Station Saturday! It was hard to resist this photo opportunity of Engine 7.

Big shoutout to our members at Station 7 on Elliot Street! 🚒

Did you know that the roots of firefighting in this area run incredibly deep? Long before modern stations, the "Cataract Engine Company" was formed in the Upper Falls village; making it one of the oldest fire organizations in all of Newton. There is a great book scanned in at the , that has all this history!

While the gear and the trucks have certainly evolved since the early days of 1812, the commitment to keeping our community safe remains exactly the same. Whether it’s E7 or L2 rolling out, these folks are always ready to answer the call.

Next time you’re passing through Upper Falls, give a wave to the crew at 144 Elliot!

We love seeing people decorate and take pride in their hydrants.

We love it even more when the shovel them in the winter. It is the best proactive fire prevention you can do!

Today, members of Newton Firefighters Local 863 traded the hoses and ladders for power washers and rakes at the West Newton Playground. We were proud to join volunteer groups from across the city for NewtonServes, a massive day of community service that brings together over 1,000 volunteers annually to beautify our parks, schools, and open spaces.

Our crew spent the morning power washing the playground equipment and spreading 25 yards of fresh pine chips to ensure the playground is safe and ready for peak playtime. And we beat the rain!

Special thanks to the crew of Ladder 1 for the surprise visit! They stopped by to check on our progress right after clearing a fire alarm just up the street.

Newton is the community we protect and care for every single day. We’re proud to give back to the city that supports us, both on and off the clock.

Nothing beats a firehouse with soul.

Our firefighters spend 24 hours away from their loved ones, answering calls & making the station their second home.

Kudos to Station 1, Newton Corner, for setting the bar high & taking pride in their space.

10/10 No Notes.
