Representing Jasper County in Washington, D.C.! 🇺🇸

Kate Van Manen of Kellogg joined Iowa Farm Bureau leaders in Washington, D.C., to advocate for Iowa agriculture and share the stories and needs of farmers back home.

In addition to her role on the Jasper County Board, she is part of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation’s Ag Leaders Institute, which helps prepare members to represent their farms, communities and the agriculture industry.

We’re proud to see Jasper County represented on the national stage! 🌱👏

The Jasper County Fair is happening in Colfax- be sure to stop out at the annual Farm Bureau Watermelon feed at 3:30pm while you are at the grounds tomorrow! (Wed 7/22) Come find our board near the open hoop building just south of the beef barn.

Fair season is beginning or right around the corner for many of our area counties! If you are looking at stocking your freezer with local meat, consider purchasing an animal raised by local 4-H or FFA members! Have questions about the process or how much to purchase? Connect with our our local ISU Extension and Outreach offices. Many offices have resources to help you determine how much meat your family may want and how to understand the differences in terms such as hanging weight and live weight.
