Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Junior Camp

Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Junior Camp This is a camp for Iowa Junior Auxiliary members, ages 8-18, who have their dues paid to date and that attend an accredited school program.

This camp was started 31 years ago by Sherry McLaughlin, one of her Department President Projects. The first director was Marlene Valentine. During the camp session the young ladies will gain knowledge of programs of the American Legion Auxiliary, create life-long friendships, participate in recreation and crafting activities, listen to guest speakers, experience some hands-on activities, and have FUN!

Crafts, classroom, and recreation this morning! In crafts, Rosemary helps the girls finish up their Jenga flags and clothespin stars and starts them on their patriotic hanging display. In the classroom Linda Sue teaches the girls about caregiving and helps them start earning for the caregiver patch. No photos *yet* of recreation today, but Angie is taking the girls on a scavenger hunt!
