Over the past 6 months, Seema Brodie, Director of Go Activate, received training through Mindful Schools, Inc., in order to teach Mindfulness in schools. Mindfulness is a social and emotional learning tool that helps children to manage stress; learn emotional self-awareness; improve focus and attention, and impulse control; strengthen academic success; and become happier, healthier, kinder, and compassionate.

"Research has proven that Mindfulness training integrates the brain and strengthens the important executive functions that support emotional and social intelligence as well as academic success." Daniel J. Siegel, M.D. and Clinical Professor, Author of The Mindful Brain, The Developing Mind, Mindsight, and The Whole Brain Child.

Go Activate has been teaching Mindfulness at The Franklin Elementary School in Newton, MA for the past 2 months. The kids and parents are commenting that it is working! Go to http://www.goactivate.org to see the testimonials.

I would like to thank everyone who has already donated to Go Activate's Fund For The Philippines. People are still dying every day from the lack of clean water, food, and now medicine. Our hearts break as we see news coverage of family members pumping oxygen into premature babies continuously for 24 hours to keep them alive due to the lack of electricity to operate medical equipment. There is so much that needs to be done to repair the damage, and your donation can do so much.

I, Seema Brodie, am Founder and Executive Director of Go Activate, Inc., a nonprofit organization that inspires families with young children to engage in creative social action projects to better their community and themselves. One of our current projects is getting money to the Philippines as soon as possible for clean food, water, and now medicine. Several tax-exempt agencies are already getting the job done properly and efficiently. If you donate through my nonprofit organization, Go Activate, Inc., I will make sure that 100% of your money will get to these effective agencies in order for them to get more aid to the survivors. All you have to do is login to http://www.goactivate.org and click on the donate button. You will be guided through a secure Paypal site. Go Activate will not retain any portion of the funds. I would like to emphasize that I am an attorney and former prosecutor, so I am bound by the Rules of Professional Conduct and will use your donation with the highest ethical standards.

We don't have much time before hunger, disease, and more deaths occur. Thank you to all of you who have donated already. At the request of some of you, I have decided to extend the deadline until tomorrow, November 18th at Noon. They need our donations soon. Again, login to http://www.goactivate.org if you would like to donate. Any amount is appreciated. A separate receipt and thank you letter will be sent to you detailing which tax-exempt agencies have benefited from your contribution. Thank you for your support!

The Gardening For Good Project was a success! The flowers on the Cover Page are the ones we grew. The Golden Living Center Nursing Home in West Newton, MA received vases full of these flowers. We really brightened up their lobby and created a cheerful environment for the residents. The organic vegetables that grew in the garden were delivered to the Newton Food Pantry. They were very thankful to receive our donation. We not only learned about environmentally friendly gardening practices, but also extended our hearts to do a little good for our community. Thank you to all the volunteers who made it a great project!

The Gardening For Good Project was activated in May 2013! There are miniature green peppers appearing, and the green peas are out of control. Every garden box (made out of recycled wine crates) has something growing in it. The children and their parents apparently have great green thumbs! The harvest of vegetables will go to The Newton Food Pantry, and the children will deliver the flowers to Lasell Village Nursing Home. We will keep you updated as our garden grows.
