Tony is FIV+

This term tends to scare people, so let's list some facts about the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.

-A cat becomes infected with FIV when another cat with the virus makes deep bite wounds in the animal.
- FIV life expectancy can vary. Some cats may only live 2-3 years, but some will live 10-12.
- If you have a cat that does not have the virus, having the animals in the same room WILL NOT transmit it, unless their is a fight and one gets a DEEP bite wound.
-Only cats can contract FIV. Not humans, dogs, etc.

Cats that have FIV can be just as lovely as any other cat. Please consider taking sweet Tony home so he can spend the remainder of his days with a nice family, instead of being stuck at the shelter.

Hi guys! My name is Harley and I am a 100+ mastiff mix. I am so smart! I know how to catch treats, shake, and sit. I am so loving to everyone, except I really am not a fan of dogs. I leave for the Animal Rescue League of Iowa on Tuesday so if you'd like to adopt me, act fast!
