Wow, what an amazing three days at State Convention from May 20–22 at Monmouth University! We were so happy to be a part of the roughly 45 blue jackets in the sea of FFA members!

To kick things off, Juliana VC competed in Creed Speaking and placed 3rd! Congratulations, Juliana — we are so proud of you!

Our Conduct of Chapter Meetings team also placed 1st! Way to go Noah M, Isla D, Jimmy L, Maya S, Jackson D, Jenna S, and Jacob M! You are truly amazing!

During the first session, eight of our members received FFA blue jackets — looking sharp and representing Newton FFA proudly! Later in the session, Jack B and Ryan M received scholarships recognizing their hard work in AET. Congratulations to both of you!

Near the end of the session, Maya K had the opportunity to deliver her speech about the Courtesy Corps and their mission. Great job, Maya!

The next session brought even more excitement as the Conduct of Chapter Meetings team had the incredible opportunity to perform the opening session ceremony in front of more than 600 FFA members. What an unforgettable experience!

The excitement continued when Aurora Post was announced as the 1st place winner in Employment Skills! We are so proud of you!

Rebecca O and Rachel Y also placed 1st for their Team Demonstration! We are ecstatic that you get to rock those gold pins on your jackets!

And of course, no one can forget that Mr. Morris was honored as Advisor of the Year! Congratulations! His speech was truly beautiful and inspiring.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this convention such a memorable experience. Congratulations to all who received awards and honors throughout the week!

And a special shoutout to Nine Weiland for receiving a scholarship — NEWTON FFA LOVES YOU!

The annual Ausable fishing and hiking trip took place from Thursday through Monday (4/30–5/4) in the Adirondack Mountains. Mr. Morris led students on numerous hikes, showcasing some incredible views along the way. Although the trip was earlier than usual, it gave everyone the unique chance to see snow at nearly 5,000 feet in May. Overall, it was an amazing experience—and a huge thank you to Ethan HD for inspiring so many people to take on the peaks!

One of our chapter’s favorite annual traditions is hosting Second Grader Day for the four local elementary schools—Green, Andover, Allamuchy, and Merriam! This year’s event took place on April 20th and 21st, and for the first time, we were excited to welcome State Officer Aaron Foote. He had the chance to lead activities and experience one of Newton’s most well-known FFA events firsthand.

Students rotated through a variety of engaging stations, including goats, floral arranging, small animals, fisheries, ag mechanics, chicks, marigold planting, coloring, and even fly fishing!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible, and a special shoutout to Ethan HD and Jack Boffa for their leadership in making the event such a success!
