Birthday Drive By for: Glenn Goodson
I was made aware today that Glenn Goodson, who attended the Friday night Legion Dances as well as the Saturday night Zodiac dances is having a milestone birthday Saturday 5-15-2020. Glenn attended both dances on both nights regularly for decades. I can't remember anyone who was more faithful than Glenn to dancing and having a good time with all attending, especially the ladies. I met very few ladies who Glenn had not danced with over the years, married, divorced, single or otherwise. He was always a true gentlemen.
His son has arranged a "drive-by & shout out to Glenn" at his current residence, Trinity Ridge Rehab & Care Center, 2140 Medical Park Drive, Hickory, NC actually "Mountain View" to us locals right off HWY 127. You can find them on FACEBOOK under the name Trinity Ridge. He wants everyone to meet in the parking lot of Dominoes Pizza which is just above the new Bojangles going up the hill on on Hwy 127 at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow Saturday, May 15th, 2020. This is a very small Dominoes Pizza so be on the look out on your left right after you pass Bojangles. From there, cars can follow each other less than a mile to Trinity Ridge. If all else fails and you are not familiar with the area just use your GPS and it will take your right there. Glenn should be sitting out front so everyone an see him and wave and holler who you are in case he can't see you. Unfortunately you won't be allowed to park and get out to visit with Glenn as no others can either.
That's about all the details I have but if you need to talk with me, feel free to call my Cell 704-460-4919. My Cell automatically goes to private from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. During those times you'll have to leave me a message and I will call you back. Also, I was speaking to the President of the Zodiac Dance Club, Broc Seifert and he asked that any Saturday night folks who come to both dances like Glenn did and know of Saturday night dancers who are not on the Legion email list to pass this info along by phone, text, FACEBOOK etc.
We miss seeing everyone at the Legion Dance Hall on Friday and Saturday nights. Hopefully this virus will die, pass, or respond to medicines etc. in the very near future so we can get on with dancing and having a good time.
Best personal regards,
