Tragically, drought - and now famine - have struck Uganda in the past year. Both our subsistence plantings and our cash crops failed, leading to the necessity of our purchasing grain and other foods stuffs on the open market at a cost of over $1,000 per month for the next 4-6 months until rains finally come or an irrigation system can be purchased.
