Our Donation of $1,120 was added to this families account and I received this message from his wife Ann.

Thank you, and God bless you! I have copied the GoFundMe for my husband.
The funds will be used for his ongoing medical treatment. He has tests and procedures scheduled through May of 2026 so far. He is unable to get Medicare for another year, so we rely on Medicaid. And it does limit medical services.

Respectfully,

Ann Martin

Together we can accomplish good things. Thank you to the entire community that supported our Newport Tree Festival. Thanks to the success of our event, we will have funds to continue to help others like the Martin family.

Anyone can sustain a brain injury. But certain groups face a greater risk of both sustaining and experiencing complications from a brain injury, including racial and ethnic minorities and those living in rural areas of the United States. Throughout December, we will be sharing information about how brain injury can impact people differently depending on their circumstances. Read on to learn more about this topic.

Also included in this edition of News and Resources is the digital copy of THE Challenge! magazine, information about our new Advocacy and Awareness Ambassador program, and more!

THE Challenge! Now Available Online

The final issue of the year of our magazine, THE Challenge!, is now available for free online. This edition features articles on traumatic brain injury in veterans, brain injury in rural populations, a profile on the subject and author of the book Broken Girl, and more! Download the magazine here.

🎄💙 As we prepare for the holidays, let’s remember the thousands of Oregon families living with the impact of traumatic brain injury (TBI).

🧠 In Oregon, TBI-related emergency visits and deaths have been rising across all age groups. These injuries are often invisible, but their effects are life-changing — from memory loss and fatigue to emotional and financial strain.

✨ Beacon of Hope for TBI Families is here to remind our community: behind every statistic is a story of resilience, love, and the need for support.

🎁 This season, consider giving the gift of awareness:

Learn about TBI and its impact

Support local nonprofits serving survivors and caregivers

Reach out to families who may feel isolated

Together, we can build a more compassionate Oregon — one where every family feels seen and supported.
