Tonight we came together to provide support for the hurricane victims of Jamaica 🇯🇲. Delaware Contractors Association, Heart & Hands International Ministries, and WSFS Bank showed up in numbers to load a 40 ft. shipping container as we help impact not only our families, but also our community as well.

What a Wednesday at Donate Delaware! We started our morning with a walk through and presentation to the Christiana Care Foundation. As our team was busy meeting the needs of families and social workers coming in for repurposed durable medical supplies we welcomed two state leaders that are big supporters of our work and they are State Senator Nicole Poore (one of Donate Delawares founding members) and Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro.

I wanted to take a moment to let you know the impact Donate Delaware has had on a patient. Last week a nurse reached out to me with a desperate situation. She was seeing a patient that had a wound that was deteriorating. The Patient needed to be seen at the wound care clinic. However, the Family could not get her out of the house because patient’s wheelchair broke. Because Medicare had already paid for a wheelchair within the last five years, patient was not eligible for a new wheelchair. The family could not afford to purchase one either. I reached out to you and you graciously offered to meet me at the warehouse. The leg rests needed to be special to accommodate this patient’s special needs. Thankfully, you allowed me as much time as was needed to look through all of the wheelchairs and all of the leg rests until I found the perfect wheelchair. I immediately left the warehouse and took it to the patient’s home. Her daughter started to cry because she was so relieved that she could finally get her mother the medical care she needed. She was able to schedule an appointment at the wound care center for the very next day. Without Dave Tiberi and Donate Delaware, this patient would’ve never been able to get a replacement wheelchair and there was a very good chance that her wound would have continued to deteriorate, which could have resulted in her ending up back in the hospital. Thanks to the generous donation from Donate Delaware, the patient was not only able to get to the wound care center the very next day, but she can now get to all of her other medical appointments as well!
