Look what I found.......2008 "Around the Island" race Newport, RI....US 27 "Enterprise" up against US 16 "Columbia" oil painting approaching Castle Hill Inn......Betsy Alison kept asking me when we should tack as we approached so close to the shore that we could almost touch the people sitting on the rocks......we came out ahead of Columbia in the instance.....but alas Columbia beat us at the finish line by half a boat length.......oh so close....enjoy

Update:

In 2019 12 Metre Enterprise was donated to United States Merchant Marine Academy. Since then she has been chartered and racing in Newport, Rhode Island.

In 2011 12 Metre Enterprise US 27 had a new owner..... Tim Rutter....plans call for her to be restored to her original racing condition and with plans to compete in the 12 Metre Modern Division here is Newport, Rhode Island........the sad news is that 12 Metre Enterprise US 27 has been sold by the Slee's......it has been a great journey having owned two 12 Metre yachts........previously 12 Metre USA US 61 was also owned by the Slee's.

Fare sailing to all you 12 Metre owners.......i bid you Adieu....
