Hello friends. Sorry for the lapse in communication. Things have been moving at a hectic pace since October.
There will be two opportunities to apply for assistance for citizens impacted by flooding caused by Hurricane Helene.
On March 31st between 4:30 & 8:30 at Cosby High School and on April 8th between 4:30 & 8:30 at Del Rio Elementary, we will have area non-profits that are offering assistance available to accept applications. To speed up the process, please make sure you bring the following with you:
*Current mortgage payment or title
*Deed
*Current (or Sept 2024) utility bill
*State issued identification
*Proof of income for every person in household
*Stamped paid receipt of property tax
*FEMA number and any paperwork they may have provided
This assistance is for
FLOOD VICTIMS ONLY

As the Volunteer Resource Coordinator, I have been asked by several different individuals, organizations, and even a town in Alabama to get a Christmas wish list from all Cocke County individuals affected by the flood. This is for families that have been displaced or had major damage to their homes. Obviously, that is a huge task.
After much thought, we decided it would be best to have each family create an Amazon Wish List. This does not mean that every item will be purchased, it’s just a place for people to go that would like to help.
If you are one of the affected families, you are welcome to create a wish list on Amazon, and email the link to [email protected]
We will work on getting it posted on a central site.
