Today is .

Almost 15 years ago, we took Google Street View underwater for the first time to document coral reefs around the world. Along the way, we witnessed some of the most significant bleaching events ever recorded, and shared the story on Netflix through Chasing Coral, then worked with partners to create , a global plan to protect the reefs most likely to survive climate change.

Reefs have always been central to what we do at The Ocean Agency, and today’s the day to celebrate them.

There’s fine-art quality to award-winning Lars von Ritter Zahony’s () work that sets it apart.

Lars has spent most of his life either on or in the water. His photography reflects years spent sailing, diving and exploring remote parts of the ocean, always with a camera nearby. Today he uses underwater photography to promote marine conservation and protection.

We’re thrilled to continue working with Lars as a Contributing Photographer to the Polar Ocean Image Collection on the Ocean Image Bank, supporting the and the UN Ice Decade.

James Ferrara () has a real talent for putting you face-to-face with marine life.

While working as a firefighter and paramedic in Florida, James taught himself underwater photography during shark-diving trips with friends. Since then, he’s won multiple awards for his imagery, including from his time in Antarctica documenting the polar ocean at its wildest.

We’re thrilled to welcome James as a Contributing Photographer to the Polar Ocean Image Collection on the Ocean Image Bank, supporting the and the UN Ice Decade.

Photographer and journalist Mike Louagie () has spent more time around icebergs and glaciers than almost anyone we know.

Originally from Belgium, Mike has built a career at sea working with cruise and ferry companies and luxury expeditions. As a Photo Ambassador with Explorations in some of the world’s most extreme environments, he’s developed a strong connection with the polar regions, particularly Antarctica.

We think he summed it up perfectly when he said, “Once you set foot there, the continent never leaves you.”

We’re thrilled to welcome Mike as a Contributing Photographer to the Polar Ocean Image Collection on the Ocean Image Bank, supporting the and the UN Ice Decade.

Adam Maire () has spent the past decade exploring remote locations around the world and sharing conservation stories through his photography.

As an expedition leader, naturalist, polar diver and captain, Adam has worked from the tropics to the poles. He adds a second layer to his storytelling through diving, showing that marine life and ecosystems below the surface are just as important as what’s happening above.

We’re thrilled to welcome Adam as a Contributing Photographer to the Polar Ocean Image Collection on the Ocean Image Bank, supporting the and the UN Ice Decade.

Marine biologist and photographer Kim Nesbitt () explores the polar regions and other remote locations in ways few people ever get to experience.

Based in Alaska, she has spent years working aboard expedition ships as a naturalist, diver, and photographer, using imagery to help people connect more deeply with these regions. Her work and research have taken her from coral reefs in Zanzibar to studies of humpback whale cognition and penguin population surveys.

We’re thrilled to welcome Kim as a Contributing Photographer to the Polar Ocean Image Collection on the Ocean Image Bank, supporting the and the UN Ice Decade.
