This past weekend we had a few wrestlers travel to Maryland.....
and place at MAWA Eastern Nationals!!

To make it to Nationals, they had to put in the work. First they had to place at the qualifier. Once they made it it through the qualifier, they had to place in the top 4 at the regional, then off to Maryland for Nationals 💪

🏆Our wrestlers who placed are:

🎖Leah Cramer (Midget girls 61 lbs) - 5th place

🏅Mason Cramer (Junior boys 66 lbs) - 7th place

🥇🏅Willow Kerr -
(Junior girls 70 lbs)- Champion
& (Junior boys 70 lbs) 8th place

🗣Shout out to Madison Kell, Newport Youth Wrestling alumni, who also qualified to compete at Nationals

We are proud of these wrestlers for continuing to put in the time this offseason. Their dedication is paying off—showing up and placing at the MAWA Eastern Nationals is something to be proud of! This is what commitment looks like 👏

Keystone State Championships 2026 Complete ✔️

The state tournament stage isn’t for the faint of heart… and our youth wrestlers proved they belong.

Every match was a war.

Long days, tough brackets, and zero easy paths — just grit, determination, and kids refusing to back down.

They battled for every point, every position, and every chance to stand on that podium.

You saw the fight in them — in the tight matches, the comebacks, and the moments where they dug deep and found another gear. That’s what it takes at this level.

Proud is an understatement!!!!!

These kids are building something special.

The future is tough. 💪

Our wrestlers that made it on the podium are:

Willow Kerr - 🥇 Champion (now 4-time)

Leah Cramer - 🏅6th
(this was her 1st time battling at states 💪)

(Madison is a Newport Youth Wrestling alumni and is now in 9th grade)

Good evening! We are missing a lot of meat raffle tickets from parents/wrestlers. If you did not turn them in, please reach out to a board member to make arrangements to turn them in. Even if you didn’t sell them, please turn them in so that we can account for all of them and make sure we’re not missing any. Thank you!

CPWA Novice Championship 2026 ✔️

Yesterday, February 1, our Novice wrestlers were able to show their skills on the mat.🤼‍♂️

While they are new to competing, they stepped on the mat and showed heart, effort, and toughness from start to finish.

Even better... they brought home some hardware!

Every match was a learning opportunity, and their progress continues to show. Wins, losses, nerves, learning moments, this is what growth looks like. We are excited to see these athletes grow.

Keep working. Keep believing. Keep showing up.

Saturday, several of our wrestlers left it all on the mat at the CPWA WEST REGIONAL QUALIFIER 🏅

Match after match, they battled with heart and relentless determination, all chasing one goal: a spot in the TOP 8!

They may not all have won every match they went into today, but today wasn't just about wins and losses, it's about discipline, courage and refusing to quit when the match gets tough.

These wrestlers learned lessons today from every scramble, every point earned, every win and even every loss.

The journey isn't over, but today, this moment, is one to be proud of!

Championship Bound! 🏆

We are so proud of every wrestler that competed today, no matter the outcome, the courage to compete is impressive!
