Non scientist volunteers, scientists and supporters who advocate an increased understanding of the nature, value, and integrity of science to benefit our community. Selkirk Alliance for Science is a 501(c)3 Washington nonprofit group of citizens and science professionals who appreciate the many areas of science and the advances made improving our lives. Our educational science-based presentations

are geared to help people learn about science’s role in policy making decisions and to explore aspects of science which benefit our rural lifestyle. Our mission statement is as follows: “Scientists and supporters who advocate an increased understanding of the nature, value and integrity of science to benefit our communities”. If there are areas of science you’re specifically interested in exploring to gain knowledge or learn new skills, give us a shout and we’ll explore them together. FIRST Robotics
Selkirk Alliance for Science and Kalispel Natural Resources Department are partnering with the Grizzly Discovery Center on a free "Power of Science" demonstration about build-it-yourself robots. Anyone can attend on Wednesday, April 1st, 4-5 PM, at Sadie Halstead Middle School, Room 2, 331 S Calispel Avenue, Newport, WA.

FIRST Robotics is a nonprofit organization that helps K-12 students build hands-on skills in science, engineering, technology and math through local robotics competitions. No prior robot experience is necessary to participate in FIRST programs. Guest speaker Jake Osborn, who grew up in Springdale, will describe how FIRST programs could help create robotics teams within the Newport School District. More information about FIRST programs can be found at www.firstinspires.org.

Thank you Kalispel Tribe for making a difference in our community.

We were excited to gift Cusick’s FFA students $20,000 towards the construction of a new school greenhouse!

The greenhouse will allow for hands-on learning year-round and support their annual FFA Plant Sale, giving students valuable real-life experience with crop management, marketing, sales, and business development. Can’t wait to watch this program grow 🌱

Go Panthers!
