History

The CRC is a long-standing component of Salve Regina and its education department. Reports from the 1960s mention a Curriculum Lab that was used to support aspiring teachers in preparation for their future careers. At that time, the CRC was housed in McAuley Hall with the rest of the college library. Although the CRC moved to the third floor of the current library building when McKillop opened in 1999, it wasn't until 2004 that it was re-located to its current location on the second floor of the library. At that time, it was renamed the Janet L. Robinson Curriculum Resource Center in honor of distinguished Salve alum, Janet L. Robinson.

Throughout these changes in name and location, the CRC has remained true to its original goal: to serve current and future educators as an information center for curriculum resources, services, and development.
