I've proclaimed today as Overdose Awareness Day in Vermont. 173 Vermonters lost their lives to overdose in 2025, a significant decrease from 269 fatal overdoses in 2022, the highest number of fatal overdoses to date.

It's important we continue to invest in proven strategies and reduce the sigma around substance use disorder because one life lost to overdose in Vermont is one too many.

Last night was a wonderful end to Wednesdays on the Waterfront! Thank you to Newport Downtown Development for hosting an amazing summer of community, music, and connection. We loved being part of it and are already looking forward to next year!
