Congrats to our senior patrol leader Lincoln for completion of the NYLT program!

The Troop had a great time at last night’s meeting hefting water balloons over a fence on blankets and trying to catch them before they pop!

Everyone had a great time hiking up to upper priest Lake and camping! 5 miles in and 5 miles out!
Lot’s of opportunity for map and Compass work and many other things to help with rank advancement.
We had one heck of a thunder/rain/hail storm rolling Saturday around dinner, quite a show!
We even had a sighting of three eagles…. Eagle Scouts that is! The big guys camped down the trail at the next camp site.

Good evening!
We will be meeting at Meadowridge at 7am this Saturday morning to leave for our campout at Priest Lake. A couple of quick points....
- Meals.... your Scout should have eaten breakfast at home and pack a lunch for Saturday. We'll be doing boil-in-a-bag meals for dinner, so have them bring something like a Mountain House for dinner. A similar breakfast like biscuits and gravy and trail snack for the hike out on Sunday. To sum up: Eat breakfast before hand, pack a lunch, a dinner and a breakfast with some trail snacks. Warm food and extra snacks are always appreciated by your Scouts.
***Also, a fork and possibly a plate/bowl if needed. Hot coco is always a crowd pleaser as well, so they'll need a cup for that.
- Tents - Bring your back packing tent, we'll match tents to tent buddies in the parking lot.
- Weather - There might be a little rain on Saturday, please ensure your Scout has a rain coat packed and accessible.
- Extra clothes - Ensure a pair of dry socks and dry items are available to change into to sleep in. Dry sleep wear will equal warm and happy scouts.
- Water - Bring two water bottles. **Preferably NOT the insulated metal ones, they just add needless weight. Generic Nalgenes are avail at Walmart for pretty cheap and you can even use things like empty Gatorade bottles.
- Fun - BRING IT!!! Fishing poles, card games etc. Don't forget your flashlight!!!
Any questions, bring them to tonight's meeting at 7pm!
Thanks!
Jason

The Scouts from Troop 203B, Troop 203G and the Cubs from Pack 203 all stayed up a bit later than planned and welcomed the veterans back from their Honor Flight! Lots of handshakes, high-fives and saluting our local veterans as they returned back from Washington DC.
As sometimes happens, the flight was delayed by 90 minutes, and every single one of the kids did absolutely amazing. All the parents were very proud as the kids waited patiently.
As always, the kids don’t quite know what they witnessed this evening… But one day they will.
Thank you to all who could make it out!

A busy and eclectic meeting at Troop 203!
The new OA members who just completed their ordeal were recognized, three recent crossovers earned their Scout rank, there was a focus on map and compass work and they started a new merit badge that’s being tested called Life Skills. Everyone had to sew a button on, rehearse learning how to leave a professional voicemail and the proper sequence of using jumper cables to jump a car with a dead battery.
A few scoutmaster conferences and boards of review rounded out the night!

Friendly reminder!
We have a two night camp out, meeting at Meadow Ridge elementary tonight at 6 PM!
A couple of quick points:

Scouts should travel in their class a uniforms

Your scout should have eaten dinner or have a dinner with them for Friday night. All other meals will be provided.

Your scout should have a basic mess kit, including plate, fork, cup. Your scout will be doing all of their own cooking.

This is a BYOHC event.
Bring your own hot chocolate.

Please have your scout bring their scout book, there will be a bunch of opportunity to get a ton of stuff signed off.

Looks like a great weekend for fishing, feel free to have your scout bring their fishing pole. Likely, scouts will be able to borrow a pole from someone else if needed.

Please have your scout bring $10 to cover the cost of food for the weekend.

We should be leaving camp on Sunday directly after breakfast and cleanup, likely heading out around 9:30 AM

Make sure your scout brings a tent, tent buddies will be assigned at camp.

Thanks!
Jason

G'morning!!!
We will be swimming at the YMCA this evening! This is a great time to work on swimming requirements, and to check for any areas that need work before summer camp! As our summer camp this year will be on an island, getting everyone to pass the swim test when we arrive will be important. Each year, we get a couple of boys that complete the 1 mile swim, who's in for this year?

Please bring your own towel and show up at 7pm ready to jump in. There is a cost to this event that the Troop is paying for, but in order to mitigate that cost, if you are a member at the Y, please let them know that at the front desk. If you can get any other Scouts in as a guest, that would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Jason
