Road To Independence Offering empowering opportunities to individuals with differing abilities facilitated with donkeys! Please contact each location directly for scheduling.

We currently offer programming at both the farm and Aurora Bakery. Road To Independence, Inc. provides pre- vocational training for individuals with differing abilities through non-riding equine, horticultural, and agricultural programs and Aurora Bakery as well as similar pursuits instilling confidence and self-sufficiency. Through our program options, individuals with differing abilities learn, practice and master life skills that build self-confidence and self-esteem. We see our pre- vocational training program as a starting point on the road to independence and a productive life within the community. In general, our programs increase communication and listening skills, as well as self-awareness in a farm setting with an emphasis on following proper procedures at a work site.

Some beautiful Fall color on this quiet morning between travels this week!!Yesterday we traveled to 8T Acres in Hanover, NH to visit with the Zacks Place participants and tomorrow we walk the Newport Rail trail with NEHSA!! Photos of our adventures to come!

The weather is supposed to be great this Sunday so come join our Rockingham West and Teenie we**ie friends for a fun afternoon at Donktoberfest!! Pepper, Pimpernel and Eloise will be on site from 1:30-3:30. What could be better than Brews, Brockworst and Donkeys!! Maybe some donkey co****le!! 🍻🫏❤️

We have been enjoying this great visit weather. On Friday we returned to Colby-Sawyer College for their Pet Therapy Day. As a 1984 Colby graduate it’s always great to return to campus! On Saturday we traveled to Wilmot for their library’s Annual Donkey to Donuts event!! We met lots of great folks young and older st both events!!

Third annual Sullivan County Farm Day | 9/26/27 | 10am-4pm

On Farm Day, pick up a Passport booklet (available at any of the locations) and collect a stamp at each location you visit. At your last visit that day, deposit your stamped Passport into the drop box. If you forget to drop it off, you can bring it to our office (use our mail drop slot if we’re closed) at 24 Main Street in Newport prior to October 1st. Passports will be entered into the drawing for a prize basket filled with locally donated products from around Sullivan Cunty.
