History behind our name:
The Purple Monkeys team was started by my son - Michael Nash McKinney for the 2007 Relay (our 1st Relay Team). Purple Monkey was an hallucination Michael had in the hospital, shortly after he was diagnosed in August 2006. In October 2007 Michael past away, so Michael's cousin (Brittany) and one of his close friends (Alex) started a team for the 2008 Relay. The Rubber Duck

ies - Rubber Duckie was one of Michael's nicknames, given to him by Alex's little sister. Having two teams was a little difficult because the members on both teams were made up of family and friends and we always did everything together anyway. SO, in 2009 we have joined forces and have become the PURPLE RUBBER MONKEY DUCKS!!!
