The Beaufort Police Department is requesting assistance with the identification of the owner/driver of this white construction van. The van is involved in an assault by vehicle on July 20th at 5:50 in the afternoon, on Front St. at Ocean St.

Great job, Carteret County! Thank you to everyone who participated in the ‘Operation Medicine Drop’ prescription drug take back event last Saturday. Local law enforcement and health officials collected more than 135 pounds of expired, unused or unwanted medications. If you were unable to make it out, a reminder that most law enforcement agencies have a drop box for prescription medications in their lobbies and are available during normal business hours.

Special thanks to our partners with the Atlantic Beach Police Department, Beaufort Police Department, Carteret County Government, Carteret County Health and Human Services, Emerald Isle Police Department, Morehead City Police Department, and Newport Police Department.

Since 2008, the program has collected and safely destroyed over 4 million dosage units of unused prescription medications.
