Hello Crazy Cat Lovers!! It's been awhile!!

We miss you all over on the West Coast and hope you are all doing well ❤️ Of course just because we are in a new location- rescue never stops. There are cats all over our country in need. It's been slow going while we settle in and find our groove, but we are finally getting some much needed services for the stray cats of Medicine Lodge, Kansas!! 🌻 Please come follow along and support us the way you always have!! We love you all from our noses to our tails 😻 See you there!!

MCRC is a non profit TNR program dedicated to the health and management of the stray/feral cat population in Medicine Lodge by providing humane TNR services, community education, and programs to make spay/neuter services more accessible to the public

Had quite a few situations like this reach out to us lately- as we are still not actively rescuing I implore you to reach out to Hazels House instead, they are absolutely amazing! 😊

Did you know Hazel's House has a Queen's Program?

So far this year we have spayed and neutered 70 community pets. However on top of this we also have a Queen's Program. A Queen is a name for a nursing or pregnant female cat. This program is meant to keep the mom cat with her owners but ensure she and the babies are fixed. In 90% of the cases for some one who enters a cat in this program they keep mom and babies in their care. We check in with them weekly or bi weekly to make sure mom and the babies are doing ok. If they have needs like a vet appointment or medication we sponsor it. At the time the babies are born or at the time they enter the program we schedule mom's surgery date. On the day of surgery when they pick up the mom the owners then surrender the kittens to our rescue. This ensures that mom gets fixed and that once the babies are ready they get fixed as well. We also help spay and neuter other cats that may be in the home like day, brother or sister to the mom cat. In the other 10% of these case we borrow the mom and raise the kittens with mom in one of our fosters homes. Once mom is fixed then we return her back to her home.

Overall in the last 2 years we have completed 6 cats through the Queen's Program and we have 2 more being entered. If you or someone you know could benefit from this program please reach out.

Kitten season has begun! I hate that I can't help this year as much as I did last year but I'm just not in the right place for so many reasons to dive back into rescue just yet. If your cat needs spayed/neutered and you're having a hard time with costs or finding the right vet then please reach out and I will do my best to assist you. If you have community ferals that you would like help trapping also please reach out and I will see what I can figure out. I'm not a miracle worker and I will not take all the work off of your hands but I will do what I can to point you in the right directions.

Please be responsible and ALWAYS spay/neuter your pets

Miss Piggy (AKA Luna) and Mr Pablo (AKA Mickey) are soooo happy and spoiled in their puurfect forever home- together!! 😍 I, for the life of me, couldn't understand why these two wonderful souls kept getting passed over; well now it has all become clear! They were patient and that patience has been oh so rewarded! 🥰 Thank you Gruhn family for joining the Crazy Cat Lady Crew!

Okay crazy cat lovers! It's time for another update post! If you adopted one of our wonderful kitties this year (or last!) we would love if you post an updated photo and a blurb about how they are doing down below in the comments!! 😺😍👇

Huge HUGE huge thank you to Maren Gruhn and her wonderful family for their incredibly generous $5,000 donation to our rescue efforts 🥺🥰💗 This funding is going to make it so we can save so many cats come Spring without having to constantly stress about spay/neuter and emergency vet costs. It is donations like this that keep us fighting the constant over-population battle here on the coast. As long as we have support from people like Maren we will never give up on making this world a better place for animals. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for all of your likes, shares, and donations of all sizes. Every bit of support makes a difference in the life of an animal that otherwise would have suffered. 🙏💟🥲

Sweet little Miss Piggy and her brother Pablo are our last two indoor kitties looking for homes! Both very sweet, Pablo can be shy with new people but over time is a total lovebug. Miss Piggy has yet to meet a person she doesn't instantly adore and want to go home with🥰 Both fixed and treated with Revolution for fleas worms, and earmites. Message this page for more details and to arrange a time to come meet either of these wonderful babies.

**** UPDATE: adopted together!! 🥳🥰

We also have a couple of available barn/shop kitties that would love shelter in exchange for a job in pest control 😊 Please reach out for more information.

Reduced rehoming fees very low so please ask! Share, tag, and as usual thank you all endlessly for your support 💗
