Good morning Newport community I just wanted to let you know that we are not having the monthly meal and fellowship this his month which would be this Monday April sixth.
We’ll resume next month May 4th at 6:00 at the Newport community center. This time we’re having potluck so everyone bring your favorite dish.

The Newport Cemetery Association Decoration Day will be held this Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Newport Community Center - Former Schoolhouse. A catered BBQ luncheon will begin at 12:30 (cost TBD), and the business meeting begins at 2:00 p.m. at the Newport Cemetery Pavilion. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be at the community center. Everyone is invited to attend. Donations may be mailed to Newport Community Center, c/o 1225 W. Bugscuffle Road, Bowie, TX 76230. Thank you!

Hi folks...just a heads up - The Newport Volunteer Fire Department will hold its fundraiser June 14, 2025 at the Newport Community Center/Former Schoolhouse, 5 p.m. There will be a fish fry and an auction. The following are events on the 2025 calendar for use of the Newport Community Center:

June 22, Sunday: Jordan Family Reunion. Thanksgiving - Love Family.

Cost is $100.00 per day. To reserve future events, please call Mr. Gilbert at 940/928-2498, as this site will not be closely monitored. As of July 2024, after almost 20 years of service, I turned in my resignation to Mr. Gilbert, who has yet to name a replacement. Thank you. Karen McManus

The Jordan Family Reunion will be held December 7 at the old schoolhouse, Newport, Texas Community Center-Former Schoolhouse . Billy Foreman, JaDell's son is working on this. Everyone who knows the Jordan's, please drop by and visit. Ronnie Jordan and family will be there.
