Congratulations to 3 of our seniors for receiving Service Distinction Honors! Haleigh, Katie, and Ryan have each served over 140 hours during their time at CNU and we couldn’t be more proud of the impact they’ve had on this organization 🫶🏻

**SPRING SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT**
All athletes must provide proof of a current medical prior to being allowed to participate. Medical forms can be found here: https://bit.ly/3gwbWYs. If you or someone you know wants to volunteer, all you need to do is show up at practice and ensure you have previously completed the Class A Volunteer requirements which can be found here: https://www.specialolympicsva.org/get-involved/volunteer-resources.

TRACK & FIELD
The first practice will be Saturday, March 16th, at the Denbigh High School track, 9:30 AM TO 11 AM. There will be no practice on March 23rd because of the Area 33 Fundraiser on the same day.

SOFTBALL
The first practice will be April 13th, at Chisman Creek Park (https://www.yorkcounty.gov/1841/Chisman-Creek-Park) from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

Area 30 is hosting the 2022 Area 30 Track and Field Meet on Saturday, May 21st at Bethel High School. Athletes and coaches will be attending from the Peninsula Region. Please see below for volunteer opportunities and if you have any questions reach out to Shaeron King at [email protected].

Job Descriptions:

Check-in Table - Check-in athletes and volunteers as they arrive and mark scratches on competition sheets.
Staging - Help make sure athletes are checked in and ready to be escorted to their events.
Timers - Run stop watch for races and record times.
Es**rts - Es**rt athlete from staging tent to start line and make sure they are in the correct lane.
Runners - Run heat sheets from start to finish line for each race.
Awards - Set up awards stands, present medals to athletes, play Olympic theme music and announce awards.
Shotput & Tennis Ball Throw - Assist in the measuring and scoring of these field events.
