It is with much sadness that we share the news of the passing of Big B. He is a true VA legend, and someone who spent many years at this station as part of The Boodah Brothers becoming that legend—holding it down for the 757 day in and day out.

But whether it was on the radio, or in the clubs, or in real life for those that were lucky enough to be close to him, he, nor his impact, will be forgotten.

R.I.P. Big B.

John E. Jacob (BA ’57, MSW ’63), a former National Urban League president, Howard University alumnus, and Board of Trustees chairman emeritus, has just written a memoir!

“I Will F.E.A.R. No Evil,” chronicles his 90-year journey through segregation, service, and stewardship. Jacob says he wrote it to remind readers, especially Black readers, that the turbulence of the present is not unprecedented.

“We live in some dangerous times. But’ve been here before. In my lifetime, I’ve seen cruelty and insensitivity. Black people need to understand that while it is rough and tough, we fought our way through it, and we can do it again,” he said.

“I Will Fear No E.V.I.L.,” published Mar. 14 (Kairuku Books), is available on Amazon, Jacob’s website, and at bookstores nationwide. Read more here https://thedig.howard.edu/all-stories/john-e-jacobs-i-will-fear-no-evil-mantra-made-him-powerful-national-urban-league-president-and
