The Masters is in full swing this weekend… and we can’t help but get a little excited ⛳️✨

There’s something about the game—the precision, the discipline, the legacy—that reminds us why we do what we do.

And it’s that same spirit that brings us back for our annual tradition.

Save the date and join us as we continue the work of investing in future scholars through the Andrew Williams Sr. Foundation Invitational.

The Andrew Williams Sr. Foundation would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended our 9th Annual Excel in Education Gala: Constellations of Excellence. It truly was a beautiful evening celebrating the stars in our community who continue to shine through leadership, service, and impact.

Because of your generosity, we will be able to award ten scholarships to rising college freshmen who have demonstrated excellence in both their academics and their commitment to serving their communities. Proceeds from the evening will also support our year-round efforts to assist military families in need, continuing our mission to uplift and invest in those around us.

We would like to give a special thank you to our Board of Directors for their dedication in helping bring another incredible evening to life.

We are also grateful to our wonderful hosts Aja Williams and Derrick Robbins, and to our distinguished guests including Congressman Bobby Scott, the leadership of THRIVE Peninsula, and Dr. Ruth T. Jones Nichols, President and Founder of the IAMRUTH Foundation.

Thank you as well to everyone who helped make the night unforgettable, including our entertainment Better By Tuesday, photographer Stephen Jackson, our 360 camera team Moore Media LLC, and the talented students of More Laughing Arts & Media Kids.

If you enjoyed this year’s celebration, just wait until next year. Our 10th Annual Gala will be one to remember.

Thank you for helping us continue the work of building brighter futures through education and service!

The Andrew Williams Sr. Foundation is proud to recognize THRIVE Peninsula as one of the distinguished honorees for the 9th Annual Excel in Education Black-Tie Gala: Constellations of Excellence!

Fueled by the Light of Christ and supported by a united coalition of faith communities and community partners, THRIVE Peninsula ministers to the physical, economic, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs of neighbors throughout the Peninsula. Through coordinated community resources, crisis support, and financial education services, their work empowers individuals and families to move beyond immediate challenges toward long-term stability.

Formerly known as Denbigh United Christian Outreach (DUCO), THRIVE Peninsula has remained one of the longest-standing outreach ministries serving the local community. Their commitment to encouraging, educating, and empowering neighbors in need continues to transform lives and strengthen families across the Peninsula.

We are honored to celebrate the incredible impact of THRIVE Peninsula and their dedication to helping families move from crisis to stability, strengthening the entire community in the process.

Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a trailblazer for clearing a path that so many of us have benefited from—and a path we continue to light up to this day. 🤍

At the Andrew Williams Sr. Foundation, we believe we should all have a dream. Each year, we support rising college freshmen who excel in academics and community service, because investing in students is investing in the future of our communities.

With decades of philanthropy under their belt, Andrew Williams Sr. and Gladys Henderson-Williams began supporting students from their personal finances, believing deeply in brighter futures. Today, that dream continues as Mrs. Henderson-Williams carries on the legacy of giving that she and her late husband started so many years ago.

This is how we keep the dream moving forward—through outreach, community, and service.

As we reflect on this season of giving, we are grateful for the opportunity to sow into our community in meaningful ways. Through the Andrew Williams Sr. Foundation, we were honored to support a family of five at Hidenwood Elementary School by providing toys, clothing, shoes, and items of interest to help make their Christmas a little brighter. We extend our sincere thanks to the Family and Community Engagement Specialist at Hidenwood Elementary School for allowing us this opportunity to serve.

In partnership with X-Seeds, Inc., we also came together for the Breast Cancer Walk Fundraiser, which allowed us to donate a portion of the proceeds to the Riverside Foundation to help provide mammograms for uninsured women—extending care, hope, and access where it is needed most.

As we close out the year, we’re thankful for one last seed sown before the new year, and we look forward to upholding our promise to continually engage our community through outreach and service, trusting that these efforts will continue to bear fruit.

Today, the Andrew Williams Sr. Foundation had the honor of delivering Thanksgiving meals to some of our military members. Our partnership with the Joint Base Langley-Eustis Chief’s Group continues to be a rewarding experience for all who lend their hands to serve.

The smiles, hugs, and heartfelt thank-yous from these families reminded us once again that AWF is truly making an impact in the community.

To our generous donors — we simply could not do this without you. Hats off to each of you for your unwavering support of AWF.

Together, we are making a difference. 🙏🦃🇺🇸

The Andrew Williams Sr. Foundation, in partnership with Joint Base Langley–Eustis Family Support and Christian Broadcasting Network – Helping The Home Front, was honored to distribute Thanksgiving meals to more than 300 military families.

In this season of gratitude, let us remember those who show up every single day, standing on the front lines and protecting our freedom. Many of these families will not be able to travel home for Thanksgiving, yet they continue to serve with strength and sacrifice.

A heartfelt thank you to MSgt Aja Williams, AWF Secretary, for making this meaningful opportunity possible and ensuring AWF could take part in blessing our military community.
