📹 Exciting interview alert! We talked with Kimberly Buss from OC Public Works Adopt A Channel to discuss their amazing Adopt-A-Channel program. 🌊

A huge thank you to Kimberly and the OC Public Works team for being an exhibitor at our event and supporting our cleanup efforts! 🙏

Did you know? OC Public Works maintains over 380 miles of flood control channels that protect our community from flooding. Through Adopt-A-Channel, volunteers can help keep these waterways clean and healthy.

Last year, adopters removed over 3,200 pounds of trash and cleaned up 18,385 square feet of graffiti! 🧹♻️

OC Public Works Adopt A Channel program has been a shining example of what communities throughout Orange County can do when they work together to protect our environment. Since 2012 the program has helped remove over 50,000 pounds of trash from OC’s flood control channels!

We had an incredible time at the Newport Harbor Underwater Cleanup on Sep 21, 2024! A huge thank you to PADI AWARE Foundation Foundation for joining us and helping organize volunteers. Their expertise in categorizing recovered trash for the world's largest marine debris database was invaluable.

🌊🐠 What a splash! Our Newport Harbor Underwater Cleanup on September 21, 2024, was a huge success, thanks to amazing volunteers like Green Bird Costa Mesa! 🙌

A big shoutout to Green Bird Costa Mesa for diving in and helping us keep our harbor clean and marine life thriving. Their dedication to environmental stewardship truly made waves! 🌊🧹

For those who don't know, Green Bird is an incredible non-profit organization that originated in Japan. Their mission? To create a society where littering is socially unacceptable and picking up trash becomes second nature. The Costa Mesa chapter, established in 2010, has been tirelessly working to keep our community clean and green.

Green Bird's philosophy is simple yet powerful: "If you see trash, pick it up." They believe that this small act can lead to big changes in our environment and society. Their volunteers, easily spotted in their signature green vests, are making a real difference in our community, one piece of litter at a time.
