1. a schedule. Outline a list of priorities and activities for each day, for both you and your children. This doesn’t have to be a stringent, inflexible list of to-dos. Instead, it can act as a loose structure that changes as the day demands. Remember, variety is just as important as routine, so switch up some of the activities now and then.

2. Set specific time blocks. (I know we have to do this with our daughter. ). Give your coworkers and children a heads-up about which parts of your schedule will be dedicated to them. When schooling your children, make your colleagues aware that you are unavailable for meetings. And while in meetings, tell your children you won’t be able to help with schoolwork.

3. Compartmentalize. Give your full focus to what you’re doing in the moment. Momentarily tuning out work to focus on your children will help you be more productive and successful in their homeschooling. Then you’ll be able to move onto your work, knowing your children’s needs have been met.

4. Get an early start. Waking up a little earlier can give you more time to yourself, which you can use to workout, get some work finished, or just relax. This will make the rest of your day go smoother, and you’ll feel ready to conquer the day!

5. Don’t stress. Easier said than done, right? But go easy on yourself! This situation is unprecedented, and as long as you’re giving it your best, you’re doing a great job! If you need extra stress relief, yoga, meditation, and reading are some great, relaxing activities you can do throughout the day.
