Whether it was strikes, spares, or a few gutter balls, our Q4 CIELO staff retreat was right up our alley. 🎳

Our team gathered at Concourse Bowling Center in Anaheim to celebrate Erick's 3-year work anniversary, recognize three staff birthdays, and enjoy an afternoon of bowling, pizza, laughter, and community.

Moments like these remind us that strong teams are built both in and out of the office. Here's to celebrating milestones, supporting one another, and rolling into the next season together.

Nos reunimos en Concourse Bowling Center en Anaheim para celebrar el tercer aniversario laboral de Erick, reconocer los cumpleaños de tres integrantes del equipo y disfrutar de una tarde de boliche, pizza, risas y convivencia.

One year ago, Asha of Hot Grease booked one of her first food vending opportunities with us. Today, she's one of the most sought-after vendors at markets across Southern California.

As we celebrated Juneteenth over fried red snapper, boiled peanuts, thick-cut fries, and refreshing mint julep tea, we reflected on her first year as a small business owner.

Her biggest piece of advice?

✨ Embrace the cringe. ✨

Growth happens when you're willing to try, learn, and keep showing up.

A year ago, Asha of Hot Grease booked her first event with CIELO at our Night Market. Today, you'll find Hot Grease serving at some of Southern California's biggest markets, and after tasting her fish fry, thick-cut fries, and refreshing mint julep tea this past weekend, we can see why. 🔥

When asked what advice she'd give other entrepreneurs, Asha said: "Lean into the cringe."
Growth isn't always comfortable. Building a business means showing up before you're ready, trying new things, making mistakes, and staying committed to your vision.

🎓 Celebrating Our Childcare Provider Graduates! 🎓

Over three weeks, participants explored business development, resources for licensing, and expanding their childcare businesses. Every session was filled with thoughtful questions, shared experiences, and a commitment to learning from one another.

We are grateful to our guest speakers and partners from and for sharing their expertise and resources.

We're excited to celebrate two CIELO entrepreneurs, Bloom Wild Bookshop and Red LA Agencia, for bringing creativity to the 2026 LA County Fair.

Bloom Wild Bookshop transformed reading into an experience through its mobile bookshop and participation in the Big Free Little Library Walk.

At the same time, Red LA Agencia helped capture and amplify the energy of the fair by showcasing its artists and performers.

We can't wait to see more collaborations like this throughout the summer. ☀️

About Kilo:
Kilo is a comedian, dramatic writer, journalist, and communications professional passionate about using stories to build stronger communities. Before joining CIELO, Kilo worked across journalism, media, political communications, and the arts. His work has taken him to fellowships, research projects, and cultural exchanges in Ireland, Morocco, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, and Bermuda.
Outside of work, Kilo hosts a podcast with his father called The Cop and the Comic, produces live theater and comedy projects at an artist space in Los Angeles. Born in New York and raised along the Connecticut shoreline, Kilo brings a passion for community-centered storytelling and a belief that every entrepreneur has a story worth sharing.
