OC has a very active chapter of dedicated members committed to provide support & awareness for the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse and neglect. The Orange County Chapter has been supporting Childhelp, a nonprofit, and its programs in California since 1970. This long-standing chapter strives to improve the lives of the children treated in Childhelp programs by organizing thre
e major fundraising events a year, the Fashion Show & Luncheon, the Rich Saul Memorial Golf Classic and our Annual Fall Gala. The efforts of our chapter members make a major impact in the fight against child abuse and neglect. Childhelp exists to meet the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of abused, neglected and at-risk children. Our events help change each life of abuse and neglect by providing the necessary tools to heal emotional wounds, allowing our children to grow into their God given potential and break the cycle of abuse. In California, our programs include the Trained Therapeutic Foster Homes, Three Orange County Residential Group Homes in Costa Mesa and our Los Angeles and Inland Empire Foster Care Programs. Covering California and across our Nation, our National Hotline 1-800-4-A-Child, responds to over 115,000 calls a year. Our 123 acre Childhelp Merv Griffin Village in Beaumont, California is currently being reimagined due to changing California legislation and state requirements. childhelp.org/chapters/orange-county/
