An SUV and a Tulsa fire truck responding to an emergency had a near miss posted to social media Saturday.

As the fire truck approached an intersection and planned a U-turn, the SUV driver thought it was safe to pass on the left, until it became clear the fire truck was turning. Fortunately no one was injured.

The Tulsa Fire Department used the video as a public service announcement on social media about the dangers of passing fire apparatus responding to calls.

Two New York City fire fighters were injured battling a four-alarm fire in multi-story building housing a grocery store located in the Bronx Monday night.

FDNY officials said the fire started around 5 p.m. in the basement and first floor of Bravo Supermarket. Crews made an initial push on the fire and had to transition to defensive operations after conditions became untenable.

Close to 40 units and 170 firefighters were on scene battling the fire that started in the store and spread throughout the building.

The mission of the NEP Fire Fighter Foundation is simple- provide support to fire fighters who hold the line and protect our communities every day.

Our new foundation will be working to strengthen behavioral health initiatives by:
1) Funding peer support training for fire service organizations who cannot afford it.
2) Donating NEP websites and connect platforms to existing fire fighter peer support teams to strengthen their operations.

Our new foundation will also focus on disaster relief, making sure fire fighters have the tools they need before a disaster strikes, and supporting fire fighters who remain on duty despite suffering damage to their own homes.

While we await the debut of our new website, you can help us begin our journey by clicking on the link and making a donation today.
