Coweta Sports Hall of Fame To Honor the Past and Future Inductees

In the late 1990's, longtime Newnan & Coweta Sportswriter & sportscaster, Johnny Brown, started discussions about a county sports hall of fame. Johnny was a graduate of the City of Newnan School system and University of Georgia and covered Coweta sports for over 50 years. The efforts put forth by Johnny Brown and the original charter members came to fruition by incorporating in July 2001, and the first Annual Hall of Fame banquet induction was held in Feb. 2003.
