Participants engaged in hands-on leadership exercises, team-building activities, SWOT analyses, and communication training designed to strengthen Recovery Community Organizations and Addiction Recovery Support Centers across Georgia.

πŸ’™ Community Need Alert πŸ’™

We are looking for a dresser donation for a mom in our PEPA program who is working hard to reunify with her children. One of the requirements for her children to return home is that they have a dresser in their bedroom, and currently she does not have one.

If you have a gently used dresser you'd like to donate, please drop it off at Coweta FORCE, 36 Salbide Ave, Newnan. Your generosity could help make a meaningful difference for this family as they work toward being reunited.

If you have questions or would like to coordinate a donation, please send us a message.

Thank you for helping us support families in recovery and strengthen our community! ❀️

Congratulations to Katie O'Neal on earning her Maternal Peer Support Certification!

Katie, who serves as the Program Coordinator for our Parent Elected Peer Advocate (PEPA) Program, was part of the very first cohort to complete this groundbreaking certification through the Georgia Council for Recovery's Maternal Peer Support Program. The program was developed to provide specialized peer support for pregnant and parenting individuals affected by substance use disorders, helping families navigate recovery, access resources, and build stronger futures together.

This certification is especially meaningful because it complements the work Katie already does every day alongside parents involved with DFCS who are working to overcome substance use challenges and strengthen their families. Her commitment to expanding her knowledge and skills helps ensure that the parents we serve receive compassionate, recovery-focused support from someone who understands the unique challenges families face.

We are proud of Katie for being among the first professionals in Georgia to earn this certification and excited about the impact this training will have on the families we serve.

Please join us in congratulating Katie on this outstanding achievement! πŸ’š

Building healthier communities starts with connection.

Recently, our team had the opportunity to participate in KIA Assembly Plant, West Point, GA's 2nd Annual D.R.I.V.E. Mental Health Initiative, an event focused on promoting mental wellness and connecting employees with resources that support their overall well-being.

We were honored to share information about our recovery support services, prevention programs, and community resources while engaging with Kia team members and other community partners dedicated to health and wellness.

Thank you to Kia Georgia for inviting us to be part of this important initiative and for your continued commitment to fostering a workplace culture where mental health and well-being are prioritized.
